1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

  • Google account information — your name, email address, and profile photo, obtained via Google Sign-In when you create an account.
  • Packing list data — the lists, sections, and items you create or join within the app, stored in our cloud database.

We do not collect precise location data, payment information, or any sensitive personal data.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To store, sync, and display your packing lists across devices and with collaborators you choose to share with.
  • To identify you to other users on a shared list (name and profile photo only).

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

4. Data processors and third parties

We use the following third-party services, each acting as a data processor under our instructions:

  • Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore) — used for account authentication and cloud data storage. Firebase is operated by Google LLC. See the Firebase privacy information.
  • Google Sign-In — used to authenticate users via their Google account. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Places API — used to autocomplete destination names when you type in the destination search box. Only the text you type is sent to Google; no GPS or device location data is shared. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

5. Data retention

Your account data and packing lists are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your data from our systems within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Data portability (receive a copy of your data in a structured format).

7. Children's privacy

PackTogether is not directed at children under 13 as independent users. However, we recognise that families may use the app together — for example, a parent may add a child to a shared packing list or allow a child to use the app under their supervision.

Children under 13 should only use PackTogether with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
